This
8 ½’ tall figure stands as the central
element in a park that occupies a prominent corner
in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Clifton. The sculpture
combines elements of the nearby architecture and the
natural beauty of the park itself. The mass of leaves
that form the “hair” were cast separately
and assembled under the artist’s direction using
TIG welding. The undercut flowers that decorate the
torso were individually cast and attached by hidden
welds. Internal plumbing provides water to the upraised
left hand and the lotus flower held in the right hand.
Each hand is removable to facilitate maintenance.
